It's time again for LMS3. Round two has just been posted on
ConceptArt.org and there are, once again, some spectacular entries. The topic is "outbreak" and there are some very interesting interpretations on this theme. Unlike round one, this round will utilize a point system to rate each piece so entrants will get a better idea of how they fared with the judges.
For my entry, I chose to depict a pair of children escaping their village before it becomes completely eaten by swarming caterpillars. Their get away is facilitated by a giant magic flying beetle creature, which was a lot of fun to create. It was painted using watercolor and colored pencil.
